Coiled
written by: JahArt Kushite
coiled in arms of poverty
situations turning into severity
the grip is inescapable
the pain unimaginable
watching the day go by
empty stomach, mouth dry
children wail
all efforts to no avail
life meanders in valleys of
suffering
lost in tormenting spirals of
aberration
heart clothed in sorrows
hopes dying in blurred tomorrows
struggles that never end
life you won’t comprehend
some say it’s a process
yet it makes no sense
