Crucifixion

Sallow-faced artist in the making,
Where overthought styles roam
Bourgeoisie London—
Artists are a penny.
In Wildean style with a gentle stroke
Of that brush— comes the sun:
It is burnt orange.
The crucifixion of an illicit religion.
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:
Inspired by Francis Bacon’s ‘Three Studies for Figures at the Base of a Crucifixion’
