Deep in December

Deep in December

written by: Elisa Theriana

three hundred
and fifty
my sober days
nobody knows forever
but maybe December

the willows know
sways of the wind
day and night
to the hollows
in light of December

keep counting
when the snow still falling
now I’m up to a million
of these scars
deep in December

fireflies in a jar
one by one
all lights
fade away
first frost December

so far
yet so close
maybe a thousand
tears away
new hope in December
