Demon’s Awake

written by: Cyril Giraud

Blue flames licked the central post
Eyes mesmerized by the dance of fire.
Turning and jumping between shadows
Beasts of the night and spirits of time
Beating strong to the steps of the earth.
Back to moments where pigs slaughtered
Glass bottles smashed and drank
Red hot chili eaten and smouldered across.
Heads span loose and the world lapsed
Falling into millennials of relapsing.
Habits taken and respect forgotten
Smoking mountains and forest apart
Mixing substances in our brews, injecting us
Pushing needles into our arms, injecting us
Speaking words of wisdom to the deaf, injecting us
Showing reality to the blind, injecting us
While pleading silently solutions to the mute.
Let us be thermo-insensitive to their fire
Taste nothingness in their bitterness
Be sweet to the hunger of our cells,
Salty on the wounds of falling giants
Thirsty to find balance in somatic pressures.
Blue flames licked the central post,
Eyes mesmerized by the dance of fire.
Turning and jumping between shadows
Beasts of the night and spirits of time
Beating strong the steps of the earth.
