Falu, Mom’s Parting Color

Falu, Mom’s Parting Color

written by: Marsha Ingrao

Copper waste made good
Falu, Mom’s parting color
Memories preserved
My core, my soul, my thinking
Her life here completely spent

Poured into my brain
Iron-rich admonitions
To secure my way
Leading the way to beyond
Where I can not cross over

Goodbyes – a brick wall
Built tall enough to fracture
Humpty Dumpty’s heart
Living in my empty shell
Lying strewn on sobbing soil
