As this is read / there is
you / there is us
and all that gathers around
with moments
of remembering or forgetting

and certain lines stimulate / while
others discourage
as we obsess with the surface
of our lives
which never centers from its depth

never reaches the heart’s hold / is never
held by the light
or maybe held
by our weakness / by
complexities and limitations

This is to say, we long for love
while clutching hatred
we imagine joy
while creating sorrow
as life comes apart / its body full of darkness
