I held you close
I held you near
I wouldn’t move
I called you dear
People told me: he’s not there!
But I saw you, held you, caressed your hair
I wanted to be with you, and sleep like you did
But they said: It’s too warm! And I cried like a kid
I had to say goodbye to you, let go a last time
The hardest thing I’ve ever done in all my lifetime.
I felt my mind snap and walked right into insanity
When they put you in a body bag and left me alone with… me
Fighting the sorrows in life by writing, sometimes joking, sometimes I try to put words to the pain
