Grow Old With You

Grow Old With You

written by: Elijah Bishop

I wanna grow old with you
Kiss your wrinkled face each night before bed
And in the morning
With my walking stick
Stroll down the kitchen
Make you a warm cup of coffee
Even before your eyes greet the first sun of the day
Together we smile and laugh about our youthful days…
Smile and giggle about our argument as young couple
Talk about the day we walked down the aisle
Even smile at the remembrance of our toddlers and who was the first person they called
Talk and laugh about the night we met
Our first date and meeting
And how you gave me a hard time before responding to my feelings
Talk and smile about the things that happened to us
How certain man or lady came in between us
And how we overcame each temptation
Smile about how we settled our differences
And how we won each other again and again
Even the first time we slept together
The night we felt our impulse
I wanna grow old with you
Be your best friend even to our last days on earth
And after this life
Still walk together
The kind of friends that will never bow to asunder.
