Guardian of the Earth

Guardian of the Earth

written by: Elysha Faith T. Adal

With hands, devoid of stain,
You will find a magical place.
Not languishing in some faraway galaxies,
But there is the seed of promise.

And the soil scientist drops to his knees and sees,
One that lives beneath the fields and trees.
A dichotomy of an existence, so massive yet small.
Connecting future, now, history.

They travelled the textures of sands and clays,
To help with day-to-day operations on the land.
They grip the nutrients sheltered,
Healthful yields start here.

In scarcity of rain, heat and cold,
They search for answers smart and courageous.
Avoiding soil loss and degradation,
Back all areas and farms.

And every ounce of dirt is worth,
A gift to nature cherished.
And those patients who dedicate their art,
Be a pulse in the heart of life.

So bless the land’s keepers,
Those who bust their ass with brain, heart and brawn.
A soil scientist in an honorable profession,
Feed the soul, feed the earth.
