I Should Be Sleeping

I Should Be Sleeping

written by: Godfrey Holy

the lord of rain is
singing outside

i sit my chin on the
window sill and listen

i watch him dream
down my pavement

splash on rooftops
and glisten in light

he effortlessly falls
on the sleeping city

how wet it is outside
how quiet it is inside

i wonder where i am
where i lost my rain
