If I Were President
of the US of A
I would listen to all
no matter the age
leading not by position
but with wisdom
earned trust
I would bring to fruition
all the promises made
keeping faith with the people
who believed
what was said
To those that did not
I would try to convince
I was worth every vote
every ballot
not earned
It matters
not much
if female or male
a man for all seasons
a woman of all
It is courage, conviction
great character
and strength
that make a true leader
of a nation like ours
