In The Glow of Your Eyes

I love your beautiful smile and your green-hazel eyes that glow through the night,
you always have a kind heart and your soul is a beacon of light.
You are my beloved and you always protect me from harm for all days,
I am your beloved and I’ll be there for you always.
You are my panorama, being the only thing I see,
When we are together, we only feel glee.
My soul is like a mountain that you love to trek as you conquer,
Your heart is the ocean where I love to swim and to wonder.
My mind is the lighthouse that sets your soul aflame,
Your body is my safe house and I hope you feel the same.
You don’t need to bite your nails for I will hold your hand,
You do the same for me, for you love and understand.
Our love is as immense as the ocean and the grains of sand,
You are a wanderer of the seas and I am dry land.

I will not waste words on the preparations made for the trip I am about to describe, that’s another story in itself and probably better suited for the eyes and ears of physicists due to its highly technical nature. I will say that my journey began with the purchase of a 200-year-old farm with a large barn in Cashtown, PA, population 450, and a mere stone’s throw from the town of Gettysburg. I had studied the writings of H.G. Wells for a good many years, so the barn served me well and I was able to design and construct a vehicle that would enable me to travel through time. Given the technological advances which have occurred since Wells’ era, my time machine was of vastly superior capabilities. I performed three successful test runs to Gettysburg....
