Inferno

written by: Shyamal Mukhopadhyay

Devil’s Inferno at Notre Dame swinging bell atop the cathedral
Arousing the spirit of Esmeralda to avenge Frollo’s betrayal,
Holy angel failed to provide sanctuary (the church, of course, no asylum embassy)
A nomad girl traversing into purgatory
Finally sent to the gallow to rest beneath soil mortuary.
Memoirs of love scripted in epics all ages
Condemned to erupt in flames to ravage
Saga of love, so said, remains immortal
Revenge always appears brutal.
