Beautiful tree,
Beacon of strength,
Shed your leaves from your branches,
Let them tumble, with grace.

Just as my tears fall away
From these ageing eyes,
So too do your leaves
To their afterlife.

Stand tall and grounded,
Deep rooted to the earth,
You breathe, grow,
And re-kindle your worth.

For the next chapter to begin,
One needs to end,
And as you grow new buds of life
My eyes sparkle again.
