Lonely Ghost

Lonely Ghost

Your voice echoes endlessly in an empty room
even the sheet-covered furniture tilts you to the floor
or you slip through it like water cold as silence
when the arms-linked living shroud the halls
teeth in careless smiles and blood in their cheeks
you could unearth each shining coin from your grave- they’d trod gold into dirt
whispers beg them listen
jiggle lightswitch desperately.
but they only notice when you turn poltergeist.
cracking mirrors. slammed doors. Still
they choose not to understand.
