Memory Tainted

written by: Tori Stambaugh

i have this image
of you with a rope
around your neck
in a house i’ve never seen
with your eyes wide open

your lips are turning blue
and your chest is still
and your blood is settling
in your lifeless limbs

and my heart is flooded
with anger because
this is how i will
remember you first
from now on
