My Beautiful, Wondrous, Life Giving Tree
Original Poem
My beautiful, wondrous, life giving tree
oxygen flowing from chlorophyll-ed leaves
filters and cleans the air that I breathe
shades and protects me from solar unease
comforting cover from curious eyes
My beautiful, wondrous, life giving tree
long sturdy branches and sun-dappled leaves
fluttering wings in the cool springtime breeze
burgeoning buds on the tips of my tree
pink, white and green grow the flowers of spring
My beautiful, wondrous, life giving tree
graces my doorstep in shadows of green

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
