My Happy Place

My Happy Place

Peace by the water.
Canal, river or sea.
Here, I long to be.

Thoughts bombard my mind.
Seeking answers, making plans.
New pleasures to find.

As the waves peak, break;
On the shore, I stand and stare.
I’m lost in the wake.

The water invades;
Every cell in my body.
A simple, First Aid.

Memories sharpen.
Awoken, relieved, loved.
Never dull, darkened.

A trip to the sea.
A healing experience.
Bringing peace to me.
