Noir, a poem written by Godfrey Holy at
Oladimeji Odunsi

there’s poison in
this sun,
something about
the way it settles on
my skin
something about
things it whispers
to me
it tells me that i
am black,
that i am bad and bound
all day it mocks me
i long for dusk so
i can fade away,
for sleep so I
can forgive dragons
i need to feed
to survive this
turntable called life
