Of Unity

Of Unity

Be you woman-born

Whose spirit emerged from the ocean
Or washed ashore from a river or lake

Whose bones, solid echoes
Of glaciers, cliffs, or canyons

Whose voice, in prayer
Lifts up into air

Whose molecules, particles
Once from the sky, dust of stars

You are called human
In your form
Are born, suffer and die.

These words fit many mouths, many minds
Sent forth in text for future time

When present becomes past, the reader
To remind
Of unity

All is one
And one all

On some basic and essential level
