One Summer’s Day

One Summer’s Day

One summer’s day

the sun rose high

above the blue

enormous sky

An eagle soared

with wings spread wide

in search of treasures

far below

White capped waves

rode high on swells

of ocean currents

salty peaks

The gentle surf

rolled softly in

caressed the sand

and kissed the shore

Far in the distance

wide expanse

the great horizon

could be spied

The sun turned red

in purple sky

a splendid sight

one summer’s day

Why write?
I write because I am:
Driven to distraction by the inequities of the society in which we live.
Motivated by cruelty, abuse, ignorance and indifference.
My intention: To poke, prod and provoke!
"Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess." - Oscar Wilde
