Red Lights

Red Lights

i’m dreaming of a different view
complete with changing landscapes
my senses can feast upon

if i could hack into life
turn each traffic light green
fully enjoy the freedom of driving
with thrilling unchallenged speed
i would gather those i love most
take them on a global adventure
explore fascinating places
without those flashing red lights
causing life’s unexpected collisions
making my body permanently disabled
forced now to stay in one space
instead i would be a brand new vehicle
travelling everywhere imaginable
showing my family everything
as nothing could stop me again

if i could hack into life i would
as i’m dreaming of a different view
complete with changing landscapes
my senses can feast upon
a life with no red lights at all
