Revenge
written by: Eliza Segiet

Trapped in reality,
doomed to chance,
without understanding,
we try to judge the times
which are plagued by human hatred.
Seemingly from the sidelines,
and yet within,
we – the thinking ones-
destroy
and kill – without reason
or maybe just for self-glory?
Those who destroy rejoice,
the defeated ones weep.
The surviving losers
look for a way to revenge.
We shape the future
at our own risk.
The world is a bullet,
revenge is a pain,
death is life’s mistress,
who we should give a chance
so that, without anyone’s help,
she could manage our last hour.
Let her choose.

Eliza Segiet – Master's Degree graduate in Philosophy, completed postgraduate studies in Cultural Knowledge, Philosophy, Arts and Literature at Jagiellonian University, as well as Film and Television Production in Lodz.
Torn between poetry and drama. Likes to look into the clouds, but keeps both feet on the ground. Her heart is close to the thought of Schopenhauer: "Ordinary people merely think how they shall 'spend' their time; a man of talent tries to 'use' it". She is a Pushcart Prize nominee (November 2019).
Eliza Segiet – absolwentka studiów magisterskich Wydziału Filozofii, studiów podyplomowych – Wiedza o Kulturze i Filozofia, Studiów Literacko Artystycznych Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego oraz Studium Realizacji i Eksploatacji Telewizyjno-Filmowej w Łodzi.
Rozdarta pomiędzy poezją a dramatem.
