This is a painting

Never thought I’d see the day

i’ll just see myself

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR:

Illustration description: A medium grey background. The words of the haiku occupy the right side of the image, just above mid-level in black Courier New Bold Italic font. The left side of the image is occupied by a rectangle of stormy cloud framed in textured gold. A shape occupies the right side of the rectangle, vaguely resembling the top half of a human, bevelling giving it the impression of a relief shape. The shape seems to be of a cartoon figure with bushy brown hair and one blue eye showing, a long-sleeved, bright green shirt indicating the main part of the body. The figure seems to paint their own eye with a paintbrush, the gesture causing their elbow to protrude over the golden frame, disrupting the impression of a flat image restricted by the frame.
