Selfie World

There were too many people there
snapping
flicking smartphones
of drawn out features.
Climbing over each others heads
then falling miserably
on their selfie faces
Identical imagery
in a line as far away
as the sun can roar
on a hopeless day.
Each one of them having the
very same thing to say.
Yet still
I can’t remember their words
like joined up dots
in a picture
of this tragically vain world.
