She

Sitting by the lake,
She looked into the sky
Still tangled in
World’s inevitable ties.
Time robbed her
Of beauty, of love, of joy.
Now even her own vessel
Was frail and coy
She stared at her wrinkled arms
Though lost in thoughts
In the passage of time, she drifted away
Now the past seemed hazy and fray
Dreams and Desires
Now were torn strings.
She was now an angel
With broken wings.
A silent sufferer
She dwelt in her earstwhile bliss
in the solitary company
Of a sweet memory’s kiss
