She Flies
written by: Gauri Dixit
She flies
With the rest of them
High
In the sky
Lower than few
Higher than few
They look up
They try
To reach her
They follow
There must be admiration in their eyes
I feel so
But I can’t be sure
They are too far
For me to see
All I see is their battle scars
All I can think about is wings
Fluttering, gliding, fighting, wounded
When she can not fly
Will they leave her alone on the ground to die
Or will they find a burial ground for her in her beloved sky
