Sheep

written by: Robbie Masso

Am I not worth your precious time,
just because I wrote more than a sentence
and it’s not about love?

Do I think too much for your sheltered,
                                                    fragile,
                                                    egg-shelled mind?

Am I exposing too many of the world’s horrors?
Can you not deal with reality?
Are you only looking for false hope?

The great poets,
with their five page poems,
roll over in their graves
as you scroll past true artists,
in favor of spoon-feed,
                    cliché,
                    ten word fairytales.

Do I even want the sheep to follow me?
