Son, Cast Down

written by: James Bell

You remorselessly gave heart break the runaround
You caused our world erratically to spin round

You invariably carved those scars deep in stone
You often called me back, but never thought to atone

You seldom cried
You never lied

We turned it about, my own true son cast hard down
We, once lost, are now comfortable without ever a careworn frown
