Rohini Prajapati

  1. Where do you originate from?

I originate from a very small town called Noamundi, which is in Jharkhand state in India.

  1. What do you cherish most about the place you call home?

The nature surrounding my home. Green leaves, trees with hanging mangoes, guava. Little birds chirping there. The whole aura is just serene and peaceful. And among all these, my baby, who is a teen now, is watching her grow. That’s my home.

  1. What ignites your creativity?

Any incident that has happened or is happening in front of me. The practicalities of life, which we ignore, the harsh truth, which we ignore, I try putting them in a poetic manner to accept them.

  1. Do you have a favorite word, and could you incorporate it into a poetic phrase?

Soul, my favorite word.

They lay on the soil, numb…
Thy souls smiled. Hail the love

  1. What is your pet peeve?

Someone who is not answering while I am questioning.

  1. How would you describe the essence of Rohini Prajapati?

Being self. She does not change for anyone; she might adjust, but she is what she is. Let the world speak against her, but she loves being herself.
