Louise Gallagher

Louise lives on a Gulf Island in the Salish Sea, wandering beaches with her Sheepadoodle, Beaumont. A former executive in the homeless-serving sector, she writes with raw honesty about the human condition – most recently detailing her journey caregiving for her husband with late-stage COPD. Her writing career spans decades, from a 1988 feature on WWII POWs to plays with street youth, OpEds, documentaries, and 4,500+ blog posts on her original platform, Recover Your Joy until she migrated to, Dare Boldly. An artist and author, Louise is currently co-president of the Gabriola Arts Council and is editing her upcoming memoir, The Caregiver's Mutiny: Dismantling the Noble Lies of Caregiving.
