Find the ‘Shakti’ in you,
Focus on this power and believe this view,
For every day various challenges that you go through,
Corporeal misconceptions fed to public consciousness of which many were untrue,
Held up for many centuries to the benefit of Patriarchy,
Made to believe that without this control there will be total anarchy,
In many cases we have heard about the gory ‘his’tory,
Women who differed in their views were burned at the stakes or left to fend for themselves in acute misery,
Times have changed yet these beliefs still cling to many minds,
They obstruct their view towards the world like windows with blinds,
Here I share some thoughts about the 9 female deities,
Some of the traits they personify and why they are revered in various societies,
Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skanda Mata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri,
Symbols of Nature, Penance, Bravery, Creativity, Care, Love, Strength, Intelligence, Peace and Stability,
It is time to realize that you are a manifestation of these abilities,
Look within and conceive smart ways to counter those ‘man’-made atrocities…
