The Full Moon in The Pool

I shall get in the pool with the full moon tonight.
My pearly flesh will ride the white round moon.
I shall stand in the waves I make
while breathing,
while trying not to make waves.
I will warrior-like slay the night.
Where there are secrets, I will illuminate
where there are enemies, I will disengage
where love, I will endear to me their ways.
I shall go to the depths of me
bathed in the night by light of the moon.
Writing has been an interest of mine since I could hold a pencil. I kept notebooks for words and lines I thought should be together. Many became poems that now narrate my life. I also loved writing stories as a child which developed into freelance writing for local newspapers in my 20s & 30s. I tried my hand at playwriting for a book about pre-civil war New England. This manuscript is awaiting the right producer to be made into a play. My first love is poetry. I worked at it in writing forums for many years. I haven't worked at getting published however, but I was once asked to read a poem for my class reunion! They were very generous to call me the Class of 1974 Poet Laureate. I've realized lately that artistic creations are for sharing, and in this effort I hope my writing comes alive for my kind readers.
