The One

The One

I don’t need you to be the one
You do that on your own
The way your lips
Connect with mine
A thousand moons disappear
Only to provide the adequate darkness
I don’t need you to hold my hand
They do it on their own
The way they wrap themselves
Around my waist
As if reminding me
They will keep me safe
I don’t need you to say forever
our bodies
Become vines
And create one
With the stars
Creating enchantment
And concrete memories
I don’t need you to be there
Your heart recognizes mine
it wraps itself in my love
Beating softly
Like a soft bohemian drum
In the rainforest
I don’t need you to be the one
We are stardust
From eternal lands
In beds of thorns
We become the light.
