The Sanctuary Of My Garden

The Sanctuary Of My Garden

written by: Fotoula Reynolds

In the honeyed stillness
Of the morning
I find silence in the slow
Way the sun gnaws at
My skin
The sky is a delicious
Cranberry-red warm
And it is brimful with
Dreams
A yearning beckons from
The green-aching fields
To dine from vineyards
And orchards

In the evening of a
Mediterranean summer
Where the stars wink their
Little eyes and the moon
Graces us with her
Outstanding-ness
I have traveled the world
Fearlessly in my imagination
For a time
I am out of reach
But you can always find me
In the sanctuary of my garden
