The Storm

The Storm

written by: Vidya Venkataramanan

The bay was depressed!
So much so,
that she
Churned up emotions
That whirlpooled into
A vortex,
And before she knew it,
had whipped up
Wind speeds of cyclonic
Proportions!
Ramifications?
A storm brewed,
Not in a tea cup
But over the ocean!
The lighthouse on the pier
Dressed in his Fancy
red and white striped gear,
Switched on his lights.
The beams piercing through
The dark clouds
Giving hope
To many a sailor on the seas!
Harbouring intentions
Sans tensions,
To save trawlers
From the squalor of
Squally weather!
Pier pressure,
On the marina,
The dark sky and sea
Merging
And beginning,
Like a ballerina,
To tiptoe on the waves,
Begin the symphony
And reach a crescendo
Of the dance of the elements!
The sheer magnificence,
The surge of brilliant
Choreography!
Twas
A sea of emotions
In play,
The rhythm of the waves
And the gusto of the
Storm was
In tandem
With
The dance of Shiva!
