The Weight Of Bricks

the weight of bricks

written by: Johnch

Grab those handles of the wheelbarrow
Yes the one with the full load of bricks
The other one is for me with half a load
Never mind the splinters from the old
Wooden handles, if you’re worried
Wear the gloves, the rigger gloves
I bought last week just for today.

Now you feel the weight of its pull
On your arms your shoulders your hands
Brace your back properly and don’t slouch
Into the weight on the slope to your house
Rest now I can see your laboured breath
The bricklayer can wait a minute or two.

Ok now for the final push, no need to rush.
