Tick-tock

Tick-tock

written by: Andrea Myinga

Looking at the sky
It is bluish, wildly extending,
but not pleasant to the face,
searching to feel the clouds.

The wind blows, filling air spaces,
keeping pieces of peace afar,
lost in sorrows, roasted to ashes,

Found in a common grave,
buried against the reign of daylight,
leaving mourners few, almost none
and a load of tears for a life lived badly,

Hope is a past tense no longer spoken,
unfit for the feet that wore it a few days ago,
the present is the time and at hand,
though to some it’s not such a present,

On two legs and a half, like ‘tick-tock.’
Ticking, counting, yet feeling dreadful.
