Vestiges

Vestiges

written by: Margaret Karim

Velvet brilliance
Now shabbily attired
Creased, musty
No longer desired
Short lived heyday
Relegated to the past
Faded memory
Gathering dust
Yet, innate elegance
Continues to linger
In bent and withered
Arthritic fingers
Vestiges of grandeur
Crackle whispers
Release scented secrets
Of former adventures
