Who Am I?

Who Am I?

written by: Mayyu Hamim

Who am I — an unidentified person?
I’m a descendant of those who’ve
lived in Arakan for centuries.

Who am I — an immigrant or migrant?
I’m the descendent of those who once
were the pro-British before 1948.

Who am I — a forcibly displaced person?
I’m one of the disenfranchised Rohingya,
residing in the camp since 2017.

Who am I — a Rohingya Refugee?
longing for a better opportunity,
or a world, equitable and peaceful.
