The Oedipus Interview

I respect women
In them I envision my mother
I was but nine when I thought of taking my life
So that she could sleep peacefully at night
That is how much I loved her
I see in all women my mother
See, my hands are on the desk
I am not touching you, see not yet
I still feel sorry for the unrest I caused my mother
I needed her to be with me after dark
All night she was away from my father
I wished the nights would not give way to day
Only she had the magic that made my cough better
Anything we do will be consensual
We should not be sitting so far from each other
That hurt? It’s okay you will be used to it
See, my hands are back on the desk
You are hard-working I hear, you will learn fast
You have beautiful eyes, your lips are so pink
You will do for me don’t worry
You understand I respect women
I see in them my mother
I will make you like it, don’t worry bruises fade
You need a man, you need me to give it to you
Don’t worry, you can no longer be burdened with child
At night I must be home with my wife
You will not be bothered like my mother
