Maria Duszka was born on April 28th, 1960. She lives in Sieradz (Poland). She is a poet, journalist and librarian. Her poems were translated into: English, German, Russian, Serbian, Swedish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, Greek and the Esperanto. They have been published in: “Przekrój”, “Topos”, “Odra”, “Modern Haiku” (USA), “Reibeisen” (Austria), “Bdenje" (Serbia), “Kiyv” (Ukraine), “Krantai” and “Naujoji Romuva” (Lituania). From 2002 she has been leading Literary Circle “Anima.” She published ten books of poetry. She presented her poetry at the festival organized in Germany "Polnischersommer 2010." Seven times (2013 – 2023) she was a guest of International Poetry Festival “May on the Neris” in Lithuania and in 2017 of International Festival “Poezijos pavasaris” (Poetry Spring) organized by Union of Lithuanian Writers. In 2021 she received an Award of the Minister of Culture.
