Wondering as I Wander

Wandering through the woods
I wonder what I’ll see
A squirrel racing up a tree
Or birds twittering with glee
Maybe there will be a snake
Slithering across the ground
While hardly making any sound
He should watch out for the hound
Fallen leaves, broken limbs
What is that peeking through
I almost smashed it with my shoe
Tiny flower dressed in blue
Wandering through the woods
I wonder what I’ll find
A treasure someone left behind
Or a calm place to unwind
Gayl Wright makes her home in upstate South Carolina. Married for over 47 years, mother of 7, grandmother of 14. (Her oldest son is deceased.) Gayl loves to explore new areas of creativity as she crochets, composes poems, writes, art journals and spends time in nature. She is a seeker of truth, looking for beauty in ordinary things.
