EAST I

EAST I

10 days near Berlin don’t know where to begin
One day at a time hope you enjoy this rhyme

So peaceful so tranquil I so love that lake
Where they’d play a lasting friendship they’d make

After moving on After evacuation
Where their conquerors came
Those huts still remain

Seventy years. Remembering fears

V . E . day for some My gran and mum.

Into the woods where they once stood
After rushing from Russians
Cry “the Mongolians are coming”

I nail a memento to the tree
As He was nailed for all to see
