Anchor

Anchor

written by: Melyssa G. Sprott

We drifted to distant shores
tormented
by the surf and sand—
no match for the tide,
or time.
Why weren’t we built for this?
We weren’t built for anything,
but our own destruction.
We are the storm
we dropped our anchor in.
