End of The Road

End of The Road

written by: Vidya Venkataramanan

Been driving all night
No end in sight.
Through dust storms
And rain storms
Of life!
The road ahead
Stretches to infinity,
No passers by
No trucks go by,
Alone on the road
To infinity,
I stand in the middle
Not knowing if I’m
Coming or going!
What lies before me
Or it
May be what I left behind,
Do I see the light ahead of me?
Or have I left it behind?
I stand in the middle
Not knowing if I’m
Coming or going!
The mountains ahead
Maybe the ones I’m carrying
Or the ones I’ve left behind!
The silence around me
Speaks to my soul,
The road less travelled is the one you take!
It says,
It will break you
And make you
And take you
To the place where the road meets the sky
And you will find that
They are one!
Earth, wind,
Air, fire and space
Are one!
There is nothing else!
Can you not see
The pattern
That I have paved for you?
