Realization Dawns

Breaking waves,
remind me of
breaking hearts,
in time
with the juxtaposition
of life’s myriad, and
frantically felt deluge
of all things that mime.
Crashing
to the shore,
while looking for more.
Glistening
in the sunlight,
rolling over and over
in search of
something to ward off,
protect,
and mend me
far more
than what’s
presently
known.
Yet,
as the tide comes in,
washing life and,
other things
upon its shore,
I’m reminded
of the beauty,
simplicity,
and elegance in
nature’s relevance;
and,
the deep sense
of gratitude
I feel as
this realization dawns.
