Mother

She makes the world spin
She cools the anger, takes away the anguish
Makes it all worth while, gives the winning smile
Loves unconditionally. Grants your every wish.
The giver of life, she birthed all the earth
Filled your heart, gave you worth
Soothed the pain away, built you day by day
The day you have to part, she lives on inside your heart.

I’ve been writing for a few years now, poems and humorous stories. Had a book published about my growing up in the Black Country. A second book of football stories that I co-wrote with my son. Finally, a poetry book using poems from members of a poetry group I’m in, with a few of my own.
