The Layered Grey

The Layered Grey

written by: Rando Mithlo

Are there days we lose to thought
Where even air can be withdrawn
Where a consciousness stream
Will inundate its banks
Sun and its bright angled beams
Warming the yards and fields
Arrange around its expectation
We’re malleable by exposure
Struck by visible change
Musing in the days overcast
Or If just to lull our pace
The layered grey riding high
On its coattails a thundering
Our heads indoors indifferent
Peering into distorting rain
