a leaf falls
written by: Pilgrim
@chrisztweetz
a leaf falls violently, silently
a man walks by, then a woman
cars pass angrily, passively
coloured lights on glass scream
plants rest, shadows breathe
black and white generations banter
trees rise crookedly
lampposts like newborns in shock
smells cancel each other
fumes cancer dry ground
curved table in square gazebo
in shadows, the poet probes

Chris, mid-40s, I enjoy playing with words, I like a good tune, love nature, have a family, live overseas, teach, really like the idea of fishing, and still keep thinking I might get the hang of life one day.
